The red part of this map is Canadian Shield.

It is oldest part of the North America. It covers most of Canada, Greenland and northern US and contains fossils over 2 billion years old. The Canadian shield is home of a whole bunch of minerals such as iron, nickel, copper, zinc, uranium, gold, silver, platinum and molybdenum. It is 305 to 610 metes above sea level. It is 4.4 million square kilometers.

The land is mostly made up of volcanic rocks. The Canadian shield stretches from the great lakes to all the way to Arctic Ocean. It has some lakes and some wetlands. Mostly made up of grass, bog and Rockey. The mountains are eroding at the moment.

This is a image of a rock in a the Canadian Shield

The reason that I have this picture is because the Canadian Shield is right beside the Artic.
